Ross Pederson Returns To Supercross

Ross “Rollerball” Pederson, the most victorious Motocross rider in Canadian history, returns to Toronto’s SkyDome 25 years after his first race there in 1989.

The Medicine Hat based rider’s Pro career ran from 1980 thru 1993 winning more than 40 Canadian Motorcycle Association National Motocross/Supercross/Arenacross titles during his 13 year dominance of the sport in Canada. He also competed with great success throughout the US, Europe and Australia.

Pederson will make a special appearance at the Legends of Canadian Motocross display on the mezzanine level prior to the start of the 2014 Toronto Supercross.

Strangely enough the first event ever held in SkyDome turned out to be the Toronto Supercross which took place the week after the Opening Ceremonies in 1989. The sports headlines in 1989 read “Bikes not Birds first in SkyDome”.

Previously, the Canadian Motorcycle Association sanctioned National Championship Supercross had been held by promoters Carl Bastedo and Brian Miles at the former Exhibition Stadium on the CNE grounds from 1980 thru 1988. They last held the Canadian Nationals version of Supercross in the SkyDome in 1996.
